Elizabeth Lauten attacks cubs

Tweeting:  Not out of my den!

The day my little bear dares to attempt darting out the door dressed in something the Old Grizzly deems inappropriate, there will be great weeping and gnashing of teeth.  Oh the pain!

Sadly, Elizabeth Lauten has placed herself in a world of hurt.  A person has to know the bear it's up against.  It's sad that her opinion has cost her such a high price, her job.  Some bears are just untouchable.  We all see things from time to time that make us shake our heads in disappointment.  We know there are subjects that are too sensitive to address.  Ms. Lauten, unfortunately, has learned she crossed the line when making a judgement call on a set of cubs.

However, her opinion about the two teenagers' clothing choice is the same of most parents.  We want our children to be seen publicly in clothes that do not put them out there as a target.  We want the best for our children.  We don't want them to be made fun of or looked at in a poor light.  We approve outfits before our children go out the door, just as our parents did when we were children.  It's what responsible parents do.  We can't control others choices for their children.  We hope they will make good choices, but the bottom line is we have to be concerned about our cubs.  Confronting a mother bear about her cubs can go badly, but attacking her cubs will always go worse.
